– WE BUILD TOGETHER –
LET’S BUILD TOGETHER
Tiritose means ‘we are together’ in the local Zimbabwean language, Shona. Tiritose Trust is a registered, Zimbabwe-based non-profit
“A man who calls his kinsmen to a feast does not do so to save them from starving. They all have food in their own homes. When we gather together in the moonlit village ground it is not because of the moon. Every man can see it in his own compound. We come together because it is good for kinsmen to do so”. Chinua Achebe – Things Fall Apart
Our vision is very simple, a future that includes the Zimbabwean people in meaningful change. A future built on strong collaborative networks that allow people to improve their own quality of life. Our purpose is to connect communities with financial and technical resources, which allows them to fulfill their full potential.
The Trust operates as a funding engine & distributes funds generated from Tiritose Responsible Travel activities to initiatives that are promoting sustainable livelihood projects, access to quality healthcare and responsible management of the environment and wildlife.
Our own flagship programme is the pilot Village Resource Centre (VRC) in Manicaland Province.
Our Commitment to Zimbabwe
We are committed to educational development and skills exchange partnerships. These initiatives support the reconstruction of our country through community-building projects. Our revenue supports innovative programmes including rehabilitation, reintegration and hospice programmes for at-risk populations, empowerment for the disabled, and education related to the conservation of wildlife and the environment.
Tiritose strives to be a global ambassador for the nation of Zimbabwe and shining a new light on our beautiful home.

Why Work with Tiritose?
Zimbabwe has faced political, economic and social challenges in its recent history. Hyperinflation, variable currencies, we’ve seen it all. What’s important is that the people remained resilient and positive through it all. We’re an independent bunch – and we like to surf the waves of life rather than getting pulled under them.
The sad part is a lot of our young people and professionals have left the country, including about 20,000 teachers. Hospitals and clinics are understaffed. Public institutions lack adequate funding for basic necessities. 1,4 million people are living with HIV, whilst 960,000 children have been orphaned due to AIDS. Poaching, the development of new settlements and a lack of adequate power supply has led to deforestation and tremendously reduced the amount of wildlife. Nevertheless, we at Tiritose actively advocate for sustainable building practices and energy solutions such as solar power.
Zimbabwe has been slowly recovering from the economic downturn and with the introduction of the multi-currency system in 2009 the economy started to
The Government of National Unity formed in 2008/9 started calming down the turbulent political landscape. November 2017 brought about a change in government, with the resignation of Robert G. Mugabe – ushering in the new Emmerson D. Mnangagwa era. Similar to any country that undergoes political and socio-economic challenges; ordinary citizens are the most affected.
